Psychometrics and Assessment
Psychometric Testing
Psychometric testing is the basis of an understanding of personality type. Psychometric tests such as the YourPreferences tool (www.yourpreferences.net) evaluate the personal styles, not always consciously-recognised, that underpin an individual's behaviour.
Psychometric assessment can be used for a variety of purposes: personal development, recruitment, assessment, team building, selling, influencing, and leadership development.
From a management perspective, psychometrics can help in the selection of the right person for the right job, the identification of development potential, and the provision of the optimum environment and support for each employee to work most effectively.
Testing and Evaluation
e-coaches consultants are qualified to administer and evaluate the major psychometric tests available in the UK. If you are in management, we can advise you on selecting the tests most appropriate for your organisation. We specialise in individual evaluation, feedback, and counselling to support the ethical use of psychometrics.
Psychometrics often form an integral part of e-coaches coaching and training programmes, especially in the areas of personal development, leadership development, and teamwork.
Some Psychometric Tests
| MBTIŪ | The Myers-Briggs Type IndicatorŪ (MBTIŪ) is a powerful tool for understanding the personality preferences of individuals. It can be used for team building, leadership training, group problem-solving and decision-making, change management, and career development. It is the basis for increased understanding of personal style, and more effective dealings with others. |
|---|---|
| FlexSelling | FlexSelling is concerned with the application of the MBTIŪ to sales management. It offers concrete sales strategies that apply directly to your own selling style, helping you match your approach to your customers' needs and preferences. |
| FlexTalk | FlexTalk helps you understand how people access information, arrive at decisions, and communicate their views. It is of particular use in influencing and presentation skills. |
| 16 Personality Factors | 16PF was launched in 1949, and has since developed into one of the most important personality assessment instruments available today. It is widely used in recruitment, and as a practical assessment tool. The test measures 16 temperament traits that underlie human behaviour, and provides insight into individual styles of behaviour. |
| FIRO-BŪ | Fundamental Interpersonal Relations Orientation-BehaviourTM (FIRO-BŪ) explores human interaction across three areas: inclusion, control, and openness. As well as offering extended personal insight, it can be used as a guide and intervention tool for team compatibility. |
| Emotional Intelligence | Emotional Intelligence (EI, or EQ) is the use of a conscious understanding of what we are thinking about, what we are feeling, and what we are feeling about what we are thinking, to guide our behaviour. It is about managing our personalities, and our behaviours, in order to be most personally and interpersonally effective. |
